Specifying your SSID and checking configuration on Cisco Aironet Wi-Fi Cards, using the Client Utility program

To open the Cisco Aironet Client Utility, click on the "Start Menu," go to "Programs," and select the menu that says "Cisco Aironet." Click on "Aironet Client Utility."

A window that looks like this will open:

Click on the "Commands" menu, then select "Edit Properties" to open a window like this:

On the screen above, make sure the "Network Type" is set to "Infrastructure," as shown. Then enter the GuestLinX SSID, "guestlinx" (without the quotes, case-sensitive) in any empty SSID field. Now go to the "RF Network" tab.

On this screen, make sure the check box in the bottom left labeled "Enable WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy)" is unchecked. The remaining fields do not need to be changed. After you have ensured that the "Enable WEP" box is unchecked, click on "OK" to take you back to the Aironet Client Utility. You should now be connected. To confirm this, look at the bottom of the Aironet Client Utility; it should say that you are associated. If this is not the case, please call GuestLinX Technical Operations Center toll-free at 1-800-266-3585.
